Tell us a bit about your background, and what you were doing prior to your start at NECO.
Prior to joining NECO, I was working at the Harvard Law School Library for 14 years. My sister was able to get me a part-time job at the circulation desk. After a few years, I was offered a full time job, then moved into Faculty Support Services where I stayed up until August 2018.
What made you decide to work in libraries?
I've found that throughout my library career, what I’ve enjoyed the most is being able to help patrons, whether it’s a simple task or more in-depth research.
What do you love most about NECO?
The community. Everyone that I've come across in my short time here has been so kind and welcoming.
What do you do for fun?
Reading! I love comics! My ideal weekend is visiting my local comic shop and catching up on the latest issues of my favorite series.

Tell us a bit about your background, and what you were doing prior to your start at NECO.
When I arrived at NECO I had completed an A.S. in biology and was finishing a B.A. in scientific literacy. I'm currently working on an M.S. in library & information science. I've worked in libraries for over a decade, starting as a volunteer before being offered my first job at the local library in my hometown. I additionally did lab work in college, doing ecology research with bees and genetics research with frogs!
What made you decide to choose librarianship as a career?
People! I love helping the people in my community. Additionally, a love of learning. Library work forces you to become an on-the-spot mini-expert in anything you can imagine. Even at a school as focused as NECO, I learn about a variety of different topics every day through my work.
What do you love most about NECO?
Easily the students. Even on the most stressful day, the students never fail to make me laugh and have fun.
What do you do for fun?
Music! I play the accordion, ukulele, saxophone, piano...a list that isn't exhaustive. My apartment barely has enough room for all of the instruments.
