Tools for Creating Citations

Tools for Creating Citations

The below tools are very useful, but keep in mind that you still need to check to make sure they got it right!

Mendeley

Organize citations and PDFs through either an online account or a downloadable desktop program. Mendeley also works like social media, enabling you reach out to other researchers. Save articles and other items to your library using the Google Chrome extension.

Zotero

A tool that helps you store and organize articles and websites. Has the ability to export in NLM format and also has a Google Chrome extension. Integrates with Google Docs. For a tutorial on how to use Zotero, contact the Library.

ZoteroBib

A lightweight version of Zotero that doesn't require any installation.  Very easy to use. Great for when you only have a handful of citations you need to format.

You can pull ready-made citations from a few different places as well:

  • NECO Library search
