Participating in the Oral Histories Project
The Archives is currently seeking persons who are knowledgeable about and/or have played a role in the history and development of the College. These may include alumni, current and former faculty, staff, administration, and trustees. These persons will be asked to participate in an interview or a series of interviews, of which an audio version will be archived, as well as a transcription. Participants will be asked to sign release forms for both formats.
The project is a way to obtain anecdotal histories of the College that have not yet been documented. The stories uncovered by an oral history project help to paint a fuller picture of the development of an institution’s culture and organization over time. While we have many varied resources in the Archives that illustrate the College’s development in more formal ways, interviews with key players from our long history will serve as a way to fill in gaps in the story of the New England College of Optometry.
If you are willing to share your NECO stories by participating in an oral history interview, please contact Heather Edmonds ([email protected]).
